Accentuate Dashboard Redesign
Overview
The Accentuate Custom Fields dashboard has been redesigned to simplify navigation and make the app easier to understand, especially for merchants using it for the first time.
Previously, the dashboard separated functionality into multiple tabs such as Templates, Values, and Display, which made it harder to quickly understand where to start.
The redesigned dashboard removes these layers and instead organizes the interface around Scopes - the Shopify resources where custom fields are applied (such as Products, Customers, or Shops). This makes the main workflows easier to find and reduces visual complexity.
What Changed
The new dashboard introduces several structural improvements.
Tabs were removed
The previous dashboard used multiple tabs like Templates, Values, and Display to organize functionality.
These tabs have now been removed to simplify the interface and reduce navigation steps.
Scopes are now the main entry point
The dashboard now focuses on Scopes as the primary way to work in the app. Scopes represent the Shopify resources where custom fields can exist, such as:
Products
Variants
Collections
Customers
Shops
Pages
Articles
Each scope acts as a starting point for managing definitions and values.
Actions are grouped inside each scope
Common actions are now placed directly within the scope card. For example, within a scope you can:
Edit values
Manage metafield definitions
Access additional actions through the three-dot menu
This keeps related actions grouped together and easier to find.
Additional actions moved to contextual menus
Actions such as:
Import
Export
Bulk editing
Filtering
Reference Manager
are now located inside the three-dot menu of each scope. This helps keep the dashboard cleaner while still making advanced actions accessible when needed.
Theme extension controls added
The new dashboard introduces an App extension status section that displays Theme app blocks.
This allows merchants to quickly see whether ACF theme extensions are active and access configuration if needed.
How to Navigate the New Dashboard
Navigation now follows a simple structure:
Choose a Scope - start by selecting the Shopify resource you want to work with (for example Products).
Use the quick actions in the scope card - actions like Edit Values or Metafields are available directly on the card.
Open the menu for additional actions - use the three-dot menu for advanced actions such as importing, exporting, or bulk editing.
Key Improvements
The redesign introduces several usability improvements:
Simpler navigation
Scopes as the central workflow
Cleaner interface with fewer visual elements
Better discoverability of actions
Faster access to recent activity and filters
Overall, the new layout helps merchants focus on their tasks instead of navigating through multiple interface layers.
Example Workflow
A merchant wants to update product custom field values.
Open the Accentuate dashboard
Locate the Products scope
Click Edit Values
Update the product custom field values
If the merchant needs to import values instead, they can open the three-dot menu on the Products card and select Import.
Notes / Differences from the Previous Dashboard
If you used the previous dashboard, here are the key differences:
Navigation used Templates / Values / Display tabs
Tabs removed
Features grouped in large sections
Actions grouped by scope
Some actions were harder to locate
Actions are now in contextual menus
No quick overview of recent work
Actionable items section added
The functionality of the app remains the same, but the layout is now simpler and easier to navigate.
