Activity log

ACF features an activity log that keeps track of all of your imports, exports and reference updates. You can open it at any time from the Activity log item in the app’s left-hand navigation.

Activity log: activity log status tabs

Every activity is listed with its Activity ID, Type (for example Import » Products or Export » Variants), the time it was Created, its Last update, the current Status, the number of affected Items and a Download action. Use the Refresh button in the top right corner to pull in the latest state of any running processes.

The tabs above the list let you narrow the log down to a single activity status:

  • All: every activity, regardless of status.
  • Active: activities that are currently running.
  • Completed: activities that finished. A completed activity can still report errors on individual items - those are shown as an orange badge with an errors link next to it.
  • Failed: activities that could not be processed. The badge shows how much of the activity failed, e.g. Failed (100%) or Failed (29%).
  • Cancelled: activities that were stopped before they finished, shown as Stopped along with the percentage that had been processed.
  • Scheduled: activities that are queued to run at a later point.

Selecting a tab simply applies a status filter to the list, so you can keep refining the results with the other filters described below.

The search and filter icons on the right side of the tab bar open the full filter bar.

Activity log: Searching and filtering further

From here you can:

  • Search by activity ID or filename to jump straight to a specific activity.
  • Filter by Type: Export, Import or Updating references.
  • Filter by Scope: Articles, Collections, Customers, Globals, Locations, Metaobjects, Pages, Products, Variants or Vendors.
  • Filter by Status, which is the same filter the tabs apply.
  • Use Add filter to also filter by Created date.

Filters combine, so you can for example look at only the failed metaobject imports from last month. Clear all removes every active filter at once.

Whenever an activity logs errors, an errors link appears next to its status badge. Clicking it opens the Errors for activity window, which lists the affected item IDs together with the error message returned for each one - handy both for fixing the source file yourself and for sharing with ACF support.

It is also possible to download any files you have previously exported or imported in ACF using the download icon at the end of each row, making it easy to manage your activities. All exported data is provided in CSV format.
