Shopify » Money

A Shopify Money type allows you to enter an amount in your store’s currency, such as a recommended retail price, a deposit amount or a free-shipping threshold.

The currency is always your store’s currency, as set in your Shopify admin under Settings » Store details. You can’t pick a different currency per field or per value. In the editor, enter a positive amount with up to two decimals, for example 49.95.

The value property returns a Money object, which you can format using the Liquid Money filters:

{% assign rrp = product.metafields.accentuate.rrp.value %}
<p>RRP: {{ rrp | money }}</p>
<p>RRP: {{ rrp | money_with_currency }}</p>

The Money object also exposes the raw amount and the currency, which is useful for comparisons:

{% assign rrp = product.metafields.accentuate.rrp.value %}
{% if rrp.amount > 100 %}
<p>Premium item ({{ rrp.currency.iso_code }})</p>
{% endif %}
